**FILM: "NEWS TIME"

This documentary film celebrates life's little details, and at
the same time reveals the layers of our relationship with death and life.
The film is a diary of the director's life and that of four boys who live
in her neighborhood. As political reality worsens, the five characters find
that their life's small details are taken over by political events.
Winner of the Jury Special Award. Arab Screen Independent Film Festival,

Wisam Bustany, renowned Lebanese flutist will perform in a concert organized
by the National Conservatory of Music.
** POETRY READING: "DIWAN MARAYA AL-MALAI'KA" (ANGELS' MIRRORS)
** SUNDAY 10/2 @ 7:00 PM
In cooperation with Ishtar Theatre, actress Muneera Zureeqi will read
chosen verses from Ibrahim Nasrallah's poems from his collection "Maraya
Al-Malai'ka". Nasrallah wrote the collection in tribute to the infant
Iman Hejjo, killed in a shelling of Gaza. Nasrallah donated all the proceeds
of his collection to the Sakakini.
** EXHIBIT: "DIWAN AL-NOOR" REEM AL-FAISAL
** WEDNESDAY 13/2 @ 5:00 PM
The first exhibit by a Gulf artist in Palestine. Photographer Reem El-Faisal
takes the viewers on a journey into light, water, and people. From one
continent to the other, and from one season to the next. The photographs
were taken in China, Ireland, and Egypt. The photographer has exhibited
previously in Egypt, China, and Europe. Copies of the book featuring more
photographs by Reem El-Faisal and introduction by Gamal Al-Ghitani will
be available.
** BOOK CLUB: "RAMALLAH THE DREAM, RAMALLAH THE PLACE"
** MONDAY 18/2 @ 6:00 PM
The book is a collection of texts written by distinguished Palestinian
writers, where they express their feelings about, and experiences in Ramallah.
More than thirty prominent writers participated in writing the book. A
number of them will participate in the book club. Published by the Ramallah
Municipality, edited by Ziad Khaddash, and Muheeb Barghouti. Supervised
by Nahla Qoora.
** CONCERT: ORIENTAL MUSIC ENSEMBLE
** SATURDAY 23/2 @ 7:30 PM
The Ensemble includes a group of the National Conservatory teachers who
play oriental pieces with a modern twist. The instruments used are the
Oud, Nay and percussions. Organized by the National Conservatory of Music.
** KIDS ORIGAMI WORKSHOP
** MONDAY 25/2 @ 5:00 PM
Kids, (12-16) will learn Origami, the Japanese art of folding papers,
making cranes, flowers, and other 3-D objects. Imad Hassan, a student
at Birziet University, will give the workshop. Imad trained at the Japanese
Embassy, and has given numerous workshops for children and teachers.
