** EXHIBIT: "Black in its Intensity, Red in its Surge" MARWAN ALLAN
** TUESDAY 4/6 @ 6:00 PM

This is the first local solo exhibit of painter & graphic designer Marwan Allan. It features water-colours & oil paintings reflecting experiences & scenes from the latest occupation. The exhibit run is daily from 10am-5pm till Thursday 6/6.

** CONCERT: “Presenting Sayyed Darwish” WISSAM MURAD & HABEEB SH’HADEH
** THURSDAY 6/6 @ 5:00 PM

“The idea of presenting songs by the great composer Sayyed Darwish comes from our faith in his music & the need to present him to the public as an important, rebellious artist in the history of our Arabic music.” These are the reasons why the two musicians, Sabreen’s Wissam Murad & Habeeb Sh’hadeh, have joined efforts to hold this concert.

** BOOK LAUNCH: "AL HATTAB/LE BUCHERON”
** MONDAY 10/6 @ 6:00 PM

A discussion, press conference & reception will be held to launch the publication of this classic Palestinian folk tale, in Arabic & French by Dar Al-Shorouq and Syros/La D?couverte. The beautiful hardback color volume is illustrated by painter Mohammed Salah el Khalil, it was rendered by folk researcher Sharif Kanaaneh, & edited by poet Mahmoud Shqeir. The book's publication is a joint effort by the Ministry of Culture, Tamer Institute, the French Consulate, & the two publishing houses. The original illustrations will be exhibited daily till Saturday 15/6 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. ** CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY: “COME LET'S SING for LIFE” OMAR JALLAD ** THURSDAY 13/6 @ 5:00 PM An activity with a musical & singing twist, that includes dramatic story telling by performer Omar Jallad. Surprises are in store for the kids!. This activity like all children's activities for the coming year are sponsored generously by the young Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoom, from Dubai, UAE.

** EXHIBIT: “PANDEMONIUM”: JAWAD IBRAHIM
** MONDAY 17/6 @ 6:00 PM

This is the 7th solo exhibit by Jawad Ibrahim, featuring impressive large bold paintings in acrylic, as well as the sculptures for which he is renowned. Pandemonium is manifest through his colors & compositions. The exhibit will run daily till 27/6 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

** POETRY READING: “SOME LINES OF GHAZAL (LOVE POETRY)” AMER BADRAN
** MONDAY 17/6 @ 7:00 PM

A first ever evening of Ghazal spoken in the Palestinian dialect, original poems composed by this amateur, but published 'ammiyya poet.

** CONCERT: “SAMIDOUN”, by SANABEL
** THURSDAY 27/6 @ 6:00 PM

Sanabel is the official music group of Birzeit University, it was originally founded in the late seventies, but was revived in 2000. The 30 member group & choir will perform in our garden music & songs by Sheikh Imam, Marcel Khalifeh, Samih Shqeir, Fairuz, etc..
