NOVEMBER
Greetings to all,
We are pleased to announce our special Ramadan program, consisting
of six musical evenings on Saturdays & Thursdays. We are transforming
our concert hall into a Ramadani traditional tent that we hope will help
create a joyous Ramadani atmosphere, despite the repression and curfews..
** BOOK LAUNCH: “Ali” by Raeda Taha
** SUNDAY 3/11 @ 4:30 PM
In her first book, Raeda Taha resuscitates the memory of her late father,
Ali Taha killed in a fedaee operation in 1972. This is a first attempt
of its kind, by a child of a Shaheed, writing a book about her father,
describing the operation in which he was killed, but most importantly,
describing his life, aspirations, & personality through interviews
with his wife, his colleagues and friends. More courageously, Raeda frankly
and movingly writes of the pain of growing up fatherless, as the child
of a Shaheed and of the obligation of setting an example to others, rather
than as a human being longing for a father. The book will be discussed
by poet Ass'ad el Ass'ad in presence of the author.
