Book Signature, Mahmoud Darwish: “Like Almond Flower or Further”
Under the auspices of Palestinian Minister of Culture Mr. Yahya Yakhluf,
our great poet Mahmoud Darwish will be present among us in a special
evening to sign his latest poetry volume: “Like Almond Flower or
Further”.
The book will be available for sale at 35 NIS – Dar Ash-Shuruq
Saturday 1/10 @ 7:00 p.m.
“Turab- A Musical Evening”
Turab, a band playing original Palestinian music, dealing mainly with
the themes of occupation and freedom. The musicians bring with them
different musical backgrounds—from Western Classical to Arabic
Classical- aiming to develop a new sound supporting the contemporary
lyrics of local poets.

“Poetry Reading”
Poetry reading from book “Atlas of Dust” by Palestinian poet Muhamad
Helmi Ar-Risheh. The poet’s reading will be introduced by poet Murad
Soudani. In cooperation with the House of Poetry.
Monday 10/10 @ 8:00 p.m.
“Entertainment and Education for Youth”
Actor Hussam Abu Aysheh will join us in a joyous atmosphere of
improvised theatrical sketches. . This activity is part of our outreach
project which targets female teenagers in rural areas offering them
training in drama, creative writing and crafts. Project funded by Save
the Children Sweden & Swiss Cooperation.

Film screening "Once Upon A time in
Qalqilia"
Sheran, the Israeli gate guard, Abu Abdullah the Palestinian security
man, the demonstration against the wall and Qalqilia at night are the 4
directions where the camera is witnessing a daily life full of
contradictions and a self Palestinian conflict where talking about
authority and commitments is forbidden (52:00 minutes documentary
-English Subtitled). Discussion with director Imad Ahmad will follow.

“The Negative Effects of the Apartheid
Wall on Palestinian Children”
This workshop is organized by the Palestinian Counselling Centre.
Invitation is for specialists only.

“A Musical Evening”
Performance experience of Richard Hartshorne (Dobbs) to bring music
and laughter into venues that need more of both. It offers underserved
audiences an intimate musical experience that changes ideas about music
through enjoyable and unusual programmes. In cooperation with AM Qattan
Foundation and Al Kamandjati Group

Art Exhibition: "Artistas Por Palestina"
A special and astounding art exhibition with the participation of a
group of renowned Spanish painters. The exhibition is organized in
cooperation with, Asamblea de Cooperación por la Paz, the Consulate
General of Spain in Jerusalem and the Spanish Cooperation Office in
Jerusalem. The event will also include a live musical performance.
Thursday 20/10 @ 8:00 p.m.
The Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre is
a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1996. Located in
Ramallah in a restored traditional mansion, it works in three areas: The
visual arts, Palestinian identity & narrative, and holding regular public
activities such as: Art exhibits, concerts, literary events, film
screenings, children's activities, & lectures.
