Memorial Welcome to the online version of "100 SHAHEED-100 LIVES", the memorial exhibit to the fallen of the Aqsa Intifada. The memorial features 100 personal photographs and objects belonging to the first 100 Shaheed of the Intifada, which started on September 28th, 2000. A companion catalogue features the personal photographs, photographs of the personal objects, biographies of each Shaheed; and explanatory texts, in Arabic and English. This online version offers selections from the catalogue, and from the press coverage the memorial received. In March 2002 it was held in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai, by invitation from the Dubai Culture and Science Society, and then in the city of Sharjah, at the Sharjah Museum. In June 2002, it was held in Lebanon, at Beirut’ UNESCO Hall, by invitation from SHAMS cooperative and the Safeer newspaper. The project concept & catalogue editing is by Adila Laïdi, Sakakini Centre Director. The exhibit design is by visual artist Samir Salameh .
