The Artist:

Hussni Radwan was born in 1955 in Baghdad, where he attended the Baghdad Fine Arts College and majored in graphic art. He works as a graphic designer for many local quarterlies and papers. He has exhibited widely in Tunisia, Iraq, Cyprus, Palestine, and participated in graphic art Biennials in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, and in Berlin. Radwan also participated in a Palestinian art group exhibit at Norway's Drammens Museum in August 1999. His last solo exhibit was at the Sakakini in 2000. Other group exhibits include the annual UN Palestinian arts exhibit in New York.

His work:

Radwan is one of the boldest Palestinian colorists. His large canvasses mix shards of pottery, pieces of paper and cloth, with acrylic and oil colors. He has also experimented recently with wood assemblages.
